Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Scholarship

The PSATS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee exists to increase Athletic Training scholarship and clinical education opportunities for current and prospective Student Athletic Trainers from underrepresented and underserved communities.

We are proud to partner with Major League Soccer (MLS) to announce a PSATS DEI and MLS Medical Symposium Scholarship to attend the 2025 MLS Medical Symposium in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, December 13^th, 2025. This is one of the foremost soccer specific sports medicine and Athletic Training education events that will include leaders in the field and clinicians from across the country.

PSATS and MLS will award THREE scholarship recipients a symposium registration and reimbursement for up to $750 in travel expenses to attend the event. Applicants must be an Athletic Training Student currently enrolled in a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program who represents an underrepresented or underserved community. The application is BELOW and the deadline for completion is Friday, November 1^st.

Our first winner, Kenta Mizumoto, has seen first-hand what this opportunity can bring. He was brought on with Sporting KC as their Athletic Training Fellow for the 2024 season and then hired full time by Philadelphia Union to work with their Academy in August of 2024!
