Assistant Athletic Trainer
Skylar Richards is in his fifth season as the Crew's Assistant Athletic Trainer, after gaining experience with various organizations, including the Evansville Otters (Frontier League baseball), Indiana Athletic Training Association, Washington Nationals (MLB) and D.C. United (MLS).
Richards received his B.S. in Athletic Training from the University of Evansville, where he also served as the interim strength coach for a semester before becoming a football Athletic Training Graduate Assistant at the University of Akron, where he earned his Masters in Exercise Physiology.
Richards is a certified strength and conditioning professional, certified massage therapist, and FMS specialist. Working closely with the rest of the athletic training and strength and fitness staffs, he focuses his skills on developing functional based injury prevention and performance programs, speaking at various athletic training seminars and coordinating the club's sports medicine interns.
