Newsletter
Volume 1 Number 1 August 25, 2004
Letter from the Editor
Welcome to the first edition of the PSATS Newsletter.
The first half of this year has been a slow but important start for
our new organization. I want to thank all the tireless efforts from
Theron Enns and Jason Mathews in developing the foundation for our
society. A special thank you must also go out to Evan Dabby for his
dedicated efforts to support the Athletic Trainers in Major League
Soccer and the development of our professional society. In this issue
you will have a chance to review our initial bylaws and articles of
incorporation. We welcome your comments to help shape the early creation
of PSATS to meet all our needs. To help the continued growth of PSATS
I encourage each one of you to become involved and help make this
a dynamic organization to achieve our mission and goals.
This inaugural Newsletter contains an article from
Brian Goodstein on the prevention of anterior cruciate ligament injuries.
As you learn from this topic presented by Brian, think how you can
be involved in future Newsletters to write about athletic training
issues that you have a passion for and subjects we can all learn from.
These articles will build a library of topics that will display the
skill of our league’s Athletic Trainers and develop materials
that we can use to promote our society. You will also read a “Tip
from the Field”, from our President, Theron Enns. I am sure
that you all have many nuggets in your bag of tricks that can help
us all grow and learn from our colleague’s expertise, I would
love to print them. I commend the contributors for volume number one
and look forward to receiving future contributions.
I hope that you enjoy this first Newsletter. My plan
is to produce the second issue toward the end of the regular season.
If you have any ideas for the next addition, please forward them to
me at devineptatc@aol.com. Good health and good luck in your upcoming
matches.
