Michelle Lafiosca, MS ATC
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Michelle is entering her second season with the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer as the Assistant Athletic Trainer. Prior to joining the Red Bulls, Michelle served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Steven’s Institute of Technology from 2005 through 2008 working with the nationally ranked men’s soccer program. During this time, Michelle also worked as a clinician providing evaluations for custom foot orthotics for two foot and ankle specialists at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.
Michelle received her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Marietta College in 1998 and completed her Masters of Science in Exercise Science and Sport Recreation in 2000 at Marshall University. While working toward her graduate degree, Michelle was employed with Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia working both in the physical therapy clinic and as the Head Athletic Trainer for Riverside High School. During her time in West Virginia she published a Case Study in the Journal of Athletic Training (May 1999) regarding the development of a staph infection in a high school football player.
Moving to Boston, Massachusetts in 2001, Michelle served as Head Athletic Trainer for Revere High School from 2001-2003 and Malden High School from 2004-2005. During her time in Boston, Michelle volunteered her time working as the Team Captain for the Finish Line Medical Tent for the Boston Marathon (2002-2007). She continues to volunteer her time in Boston as well as for the New York City Marathon.
Michelle is a current member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and the Professional Soccer Athletic Trainers’ Society (PSATS).
She is married to Andrew and resides in Hoboken, New Jersey.
